Frequently Asked Questions:
Each day we get a few emails about the site and the jerseys that are shown here (or not shown, see questions #1, and #4). So we've put together a few of the more frequent questions, and hopefully it will save you some time, instead of waiting for us to get back to you. That being said, we do our best to respond the same day to enquiries sent to us here, so feel free to contact us if the question you have is not covered below. Thanks!
1. Why can't I see any jerseys, or a "buy" button?
This is the most common question we get. Trust me, we do have jerseys for sale on this site, and you should be able to see them. The reason you can't is probably due to settings on your browser, or the fault of some 'ad-blocking' programs like Norton's Internet Security. Norton's comes with Ad-blocking on by default, which makes sites like this and 99% of the other shopping sites on the net unviewable by you. Norton thinks this is what you want, to be protected from evil sites like this. Well, shopping on the net is not evil and Norton needs to told that. If you have any ad blocking software running, or firewall, internet or antivirus suites (i.e. ZoneAlarm Security Suite) running, check the settings, disable the ad blocker and refresh the page that is not displaying the ad when it first loads. If none of that works, please click here and go to our main partners site.
You're computer is probably infected with spyware. Learn more about spyware and how to get rid of it here.
2. What is a throwback?
A throwback, or throwback jersey, is any jersey no longer in use by an organization. Over the years a club will update it's color scheme and logo to reflect the changing times, leaving it's old logo behind. In the late nineties, hip hop artists like Big Boi and P. Diddy popularized them by wearing them in videos and at award shows. Mitchell and Ness are the best known of the manufacturers, but Nike, Adidas, and Reebok have all released throwbacks as well. They are also known as Old School, Retro, and Vintage jerseys.
3. How can you spot a fake?
This is a big problem as the counterfeit jerseys are becoming harder and harder to spot. Mitchell & Ness jerseys purchased from anyone who is not an authorized dealer are most likely to be fakes. On this website, we deal with 4 partners who are on the official authorized dealers list found here. Links to M&N jerseys on this site will take to you either MLB.com, Distant Replays, Online Sports, or Mitchell & Ness themselves.
The easiest way to spot a fake is to look at the price. Authentic M&N jerseys sell from between $150 to $350. If you see a jersey on ebay for much less, be very cautious about bidding on it. It was once reported that M&N shut down over 200 auctions a day on ebay for selling counterfeit product. Be aware too that Mitchell and Ness do not make
not make "collectors" jerseys with multiple players, jerseys that list player statistics, or jerseys that commemorate a championship season. They also do not make college or high school jerseys. There are certain players that M&N do not make jerseys for, so if you see a Michael Jordan, OJ Simpson, or a Pat Tillman, you can be sure they are fakes. A list of players M&N do not make jerseys for, go here.
4. I can't find "insert name here", do you have them?
We have over 1400 authentic and replica throwbacks on this site. You can search by number or by team here. If you cannot find what you are looking for, please contact us and we will let you know if the jersey exists and where you can find it.
5. Do you sell wholesale?
No we do not sell wholesale. We are an affiliate of MLB.com, Distant Replays, Online Sports, and Mitchell & Ness - all of whom are authorized retailers of authentic Mitchell & Ness jerseys. |
