| Mitchell & Ness Nostalgia, is a sports memorabilia empire based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The company was first incorporated in 1904, which makes it without a doubt the oldest sporting goods company in that city. Through unique licensing arrangements with MLB, the NBA, the NFL, the NHL, and agreements with certain College entities, they have becoming the leading producers of authentic vintage sports jerseys, hats and other assorted gear. For pro athletes and celebrities, the store is a landmark destination for when they are in the area. The store is located at 1318 Chestnut Street in center city Philadelphia. Mitchell & Ness's authentic “throwbacks” are designed to capture classic “vintage” team and athlete jerseys which are no longer available to purchase, and only in the hands of collectors. While being in the sporting goods business for years, it wasn't until 1988 that M&N first started making baseball jerseys. Named the Cooperstown Collection, that line was joined in 1998 by the National Basketball Associations "Hardwood Classics" line. |
